Meet Megan
Megan MacKenzie, RSW
I believe therapy works best when people feel safe, understood, and supported as whole human beings. My approach is collaborative, compassionate, and tailored to each person’s unique experiences, strengths, and goals. Rather than applying a one-size-fits-all model, I draw from several evidence-based approaches to create therapy that feels meaningful and practical for the individual sitting across from me.
My work is grounded in Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Dialectical Behavioural Therapy (DBT), Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), and mindfulness practices. Together, these approaches help people build skills to navigate difficult thoughts and emotions, develop healthier coping strategies, and move toward lives that feel more aligned with their values.
I have a particular interest in supporting people who are navigating addiction, ADHD, anxiety, obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD), depression, grief and challenges with motivation or behaviour change. I also use motivational enhancement strategies to help clients explore ambivalence and strengthen their own reasons for change in a supportive, non-judgmental way.
In our work together, I aim to create a space where you can slow down, reflect, and begin to understand patterns that may be keeping you stuck. Therapy isn’t about “fixing” you - it’s about building awareness, developing practical skills, and reconnecting with what matters most to you.
My goal is to help people feel more capable, more grounded, and more hopeful as they move through life’s challenges and toward greater wellbeing.
