Therapeutic and Peer Support Groups
The Power of Group Support
Group support provides a safe and validating space to connect with others who truly understand the emotional ups and downs of the perinatal journey. Sharing experiences helps reduce isolation, normalize challenges, and foster a sense of community and belonging, all of which are powerful protectors of mental health.
Why Virtual Groups Work
Virtual groups offer flexibility and accessibility for busy parents. You can join from the comfort of home, without the stress of travel or childcare needs, while still feeling deeply connected and supported through guided discussions and shared understanding.
The Honest Space
A Peer Support Group for Parents from Pre-Pregnancy and Beyond
The Honest Space is a welcoming virtual peer support group for parents navigating all stages of the perinatal journey, from fertility and pregnancy to postpartum and the evolving years of parenting.
Facilitated by Amanda Gurman, (Peer Support, Author, and Podcaster), and Stephanie Kolaski, Registered Psychotherapist (RP, PMH-C), this group offers a safe, non-judgmental environment where parents can connect, share, and be supported through the many transitions of parenthood.
What to Expect
Each session includes:
Gentle Check-Ins: A brief introduction and space to share how you’re arriving that day.
Group Discussion: Open-floor conversations or structured discussions on topics chosen by the group including perinatal mental health, identity, relationships, communication, and parenting transitions.
Reflective Check-Out: Closing reflections and moments of grounding to carry forward into your week.
Whether you’re navigating fertility challenges, adjusting to life after birth, or exploring your evolving identity as a parent, The Honest Space is a place to be seen, heard, and supported by others who understand.
